EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Policy
EducationUSA Advising Center Access
Anyone, regardless of his/her residency, age, race, religion, national origins, or social or political views, may access EducationUSA Advising Center Library materials and services within the library space in accordance with established policies and procedures. Borrowing privileges are extended only to those to whom an EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card has been issued. The Advising Center Membership Card is issued at no cost to eligible applicants.
EducationUSA Advising Center Membership
In order to receive an EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card, applicants must complete the online registration form and visit the EducationUSA Advising Center in person to present the following:
-identification document (passport or birth certificate)
-2 3X4 passport photos
Upon approval of the documents, the applicant will be issued the EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card to be considered valid after the applicant signs the cardand printed registration form in the presence of a EducationUSA Advising Center staff member.

EducationUSA Advising Center Membership may be revoked for reasons including any of the following:
-Failure to return items in a a timely fashion or in normal condition.
-Failure to comply with any EducationUSA Advising Center policies.
EducationUSA Advsing Center Library Borrowing Privileges
The issuance of a EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card entitles the holder to borrow any item in the EducationUSA Advising Center’s circulating collection. The EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card must be presented in order to check out library materials and to renew materials that have been previously borrowed if the patron is in the library. Renewals are permitted in person only. Any use of an EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card by a person other than the individual to whom the card was issued, whether the use was authorized or unauthorized, remains the responsibility of the person to whom the card was issued. If an EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card is lost, the loss must be reported to EducationUSA Advising Center staff so that the lost card may be invalidated. The cardholder will be held responsible for any use made of the card prior to its being reported lost.
EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card Expiration
The EducationUSA Advising Center Membership Card is valid for one year from the date of registration and must be renewed annually. Patrons will be asked to update the name and address information in the database each year as part of EducationUSA Advising Center procedure. All EducationUSA Advising Center fines, fees and outstanding balances must be paid in full before the borrowing privileges may be renewed.
EducationUSA Advising Center Borrowing Policy
Security Deposit:
In order to check out any item in the EducationUSA Advising Center, patrons must provide as deposit the original of the patron’s birth certificate or passport. The birth certificate or passport will be retained in a locked safe returned to the patron upon receipt of the borrowed item(s). The birth certificate or passport may be accessed by the patron during the normal business hours of the EducationUSA Advising Center.
Loan Period:
14 days for any given item
Renewal: Any item can be renewed for an unlimited number of additional loan periods, providing no one else has reserved it.
Item Limit: Patrons may check out no more than two (2) items during any given time period.
Reserving: Patrons may reserve any item currently checked out, in order that the item not be renewed and be made available to the patron placing the hold on the item.
