FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDY IN THE U.S. FOR STUDENTS FROM ARMENIA
UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO INTERNATIONAL STUDENT TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS
The University of Toledo is one of 13 state universities in Ohio. The University is a transformative force for the world. As such, the University will become a thriving student-centered, community-engaged, comprehensive research university known for its strong liberal arts core and multiple nationally ranked professional colleges, and distinguished by exceptional strength in science and technology.
The International Rocket Award is offered to new undergraduate international students who are entering the university as an adult, transfer, or directly from high school who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The award covers one half of the out of state surcharge. The award is renewable and requires the student to maintain academic eligibility to attend UT and the successful completion of 30 credit hours each academic year. Students are eligible for this award until they earn an undergraduate degree, but must do so within 15 semesters over a maximum of five consecutive years.
Students who are selected for the International Rocket Award will be given the opportunity to compete for a limited number of scholarships. Students will be invited to write an essay on a topic selected by the International Scholarship Committee. The International Rocket Scholarship will cover the entire out of state surcharge and is renewable. Students are required to maintain academic eligibility to attend UT and must successfully complete 30 credit hours per academic year.

DARTON COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT TUITION FELLOWSHIPS
Darton College is located on a 180-acre campus in Southwest Georgia, a region known for its year-round warm climate. Darton College offers 84 associate degree programs, including 26 which can be completed on line, along with 49 certificate programs. Small classes that ordinarily enroll fewer than 25 students enhance the learning experience and provide ample opportunities for one-on-one interaction between students and professors.
Each year, Darton College offers a limited number of fellowships to highly qualified international students. The Darton College International Student Fellowship Program waives the out-of-state cost of tuition for eligible students. Students who receive this fellowship will pay the in-state tuition, which is approximately $2,412 (for the fall and spring semesters only). This will be a savings of approximately $7,200 per year (including summer semester). In order to be eligible for an International Student Fellowship, applicants must meet all admissions requirements for enrollment into Darton College. Fellowship recipients must be enrolled full-time, with a minimum course load of twelve (12) credit hours. Recipients are also required to assist the college with campus and community activities. Continuation of Fellowship Awards is contingent upon the recipient’s academic performance and contributions to the campus and community.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Founded in 1889, The University of New Mexico now occupies 600 acres along old Route 66 in the heart of Albuquerque. The University is the state’s flagship research institution. UNM research injects millions of dollars into New Mexico’s economy, funds new advancements in healthcare, and augments teaching – giving students valuable hands-on training in state-of-the art laboratories. The university offers more than 210 degree and certificate programs, UNM has 94 bachelor’s degrees, 74 master’s degrees and 40 doctoral programs.
The Amigo Scholarship program, formally designated as the Competitive Scholarship Program by the New Mexico Department of Higher Education, allows qualified international graduate students to pay in-state tuition rates (including differential tuition) and receive a $200.00 stipend per academic year if they meet the eligibility criteria. The Amigo Scholarship is a tuition-specific award and does not convert to a cash award if the recipient’s tuition is covered by other means, such as an assistantship or scholarship.

FROSTBURG STATE UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS
Frostburg State University is a student-centered teaching and learning institution featuring experiential opportunities. The University offers students a distinctive and distinguished baccalaureate education along with a select set of applied master’s and doctoral programs. Frostburg serves regional and statewide economic and workforce development; promotes cultural enrichment, civic responsibility, and sustainability; and prepares future leaders to meet the challenges of a complex and changing global society.
Six International Graduate Fellowships are available each academic year for students possessing an F-1 or J-1 visa, a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, and who have been admitted to one of Frostburg State University’s graduate programs. Applicants must apply and are chosen by a review committee based on academic qualification, experience, and professional goals. Awards are given for the academic year only. Awards may be renewed if the recipient maintains full-time enrollment, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and remains in good academic standing. SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS
Founded in 1870, our iconic campus is nestled amongst the rolling hills of Central New York—itself a crucible of historic change and progress. Building on that foundation, SU continues to create opportunities for students and faculty to push limits, build pathways, and make connections that lead to new discoveries and transformational change.
Each year we offer over 1,400 graduate assistantships to full-time matriculated graduate students to serve as teaching, research or administrative assistants. Graduate students holding a full assistantship work for an average of twenty hours a week during the academic year. The department making the appointment determines the salary the assistant receives, and many graduate assistants also receive tuition scholarships.
SU Graduate Fellowships consist of a stipend and a full-tuition scholarship (up to 30 credits for the academic year). Where appropriate, they are awarded for more than one academic year. Fellows are appointed annually, primarily from among incoming graduate students, although some returning students entering the final year of a terminal degree program at Syracuse (e.g. M.F.A. or Ph.D.) receive these awards.

PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
The Portland State University mission is to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic qualities of urban life by providing access to a quality liberal education for undergraduates and an appropriate array of professional and graduate programs especially relevant to metropolitan areas. The University conducts research and community service that support a high quality educational environment and reflect issues important to the region.
The International Achievement Scholarship is awarded to approximately 30 incoming international undergraduate students on the basis of their academic achievement. Students who maintain high academic standing may receive renewed funding for up to four years. Eligible students typically have entering grade point averages (GPA) of at least 3.5 out of a possible 4.0 grading scale. Also, students who have not yet met the TOEFL/English Language Proficiency requirement are eligible for this scholarship; however, activation of the scholarship will be delayed until after the ESL restriction has been lifted and the students are fully eligible for unrestricted enrollment in academic classes.
All admitted students automatically will be considered for the scholarship. You are not required to submit a scholarship application form.

GEORGIA COLLEGE TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS
As Georgia’s public liberal arts university, Georgia College offers undergraduate programs of study to talented and motivated students in a residential college setting. Georgia College also provides, at multiple locations, graduate and professional studies that support the needs of the region and create pathways to individual success and personal fulfillment. Its academically engaging, student-centered programs often take learning beyond the traditional classroom and develop the intellectual, professional, and civic skills and dispositions of students.
Each scholarship is worth approximately $17,500 USD per year. These scholarships are awarded as either a full out-of-state tuition waiver or a half out-of-state tuition waiver, and are awarded on the basis of demonstrated academic ability, evidence of extra-curricular involvement and financial need. EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY TUITION AND MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
The University currently serves 23,000 students who are pursuing undergraduate, graduate, specialist, doctoral and certificate degrees in the arts, sciences and professions. In all, more than 200 majors, minors and concentrations are delivered through the University’s Colleges of Arts and Sciences; Business; Education; Health and Human Services; Technology, and its graduate school.
Building on a proud tradition of national leadership in the preparation of teachers, we maximize educational opportunities and personal and professional growth for students from diverse backgrounds through an array of baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral programs. EMU offers two scholarships for international students, where students are automatically considered for these scholarships upon admission.
The first, the National Scholars Program (NSP) Scholarship is a renewable award which pays the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition (approximately $6,712 per year for two years). Open to incoming graduate students with a 3.6 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale from the equivalent of a US bachelor’s degree.

MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS
Montclair State University is committed to serving the educational needs of New Jersey with programs characterized by academic rigor and currency in the development of knowledge and its applications. The University will offer a comprehensive range of baccalaureate, master’s, and certificate programs and a focused portfolio of doctoral programs that are closely aligned with the University’s academic strengths and the needs of the state.
The MSU International Graduate Student Award is available to any student who has graduated with a bachelors or a master’s degree from one of Montclair State University’s Global Partner Schools, applies and is admitted into a graduate program at Montclair State University, and maintains the minimum academic requirements for retention in the graduate program.
The award waives the out-of-state portion of the tuition and allows the student to pay the in-state tuition amount; this comes out to $3,000-$4,000 per semester. This award is not limited to a specified number of students, but is open to students who meet all three qualifications mentioned above.

JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION UNDERGRADUATE TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is a private, independent foundation established by Jack Kent Cooke to help exceptionally promising students reach their full potential through education. Launched in 2000, the Foundation focuses in particular on students with financial need.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship makes it possible for the nation’s top community college students to complete their bachelor’s degrees by transferring to a four-year college or university. The Foundation provides up to $30,000 per year to each of approximately 50 deserving students selected annually, making it the largest private scholarship for two-year and community college transfer students in the country.
Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees – for the final two to three years necessary to achieve a bachelor’s degree. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships he or she may receive.
To be eligible for the program, students must be nominated by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative at their two-year institution. Students cannot apply directly to the Foundation. Each two-year college may nominate up to four students (depending upon institution enrollment) each year to be considered for the scholarship.

ATLAS CORPS FELLOWSHIPS FOR NON-PROFIT LEADERS
Atlas Service Corps, Inc. is an international network of nonprofit leaders and organizations that promotes innovation, cooperation, and solutions to address the world’s 21st century challenges. Our mission is to address critical social issues by developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and promoting innovation through an overseas fellowship of skilled nonprofit professionals.
The Atlas Corps Fellowship is a 12-18 month, professional fellowship for the world’s best nonprofit leaders. Fellows serve at Host Organizations to work on issues that complement their expertise and learn leadership skills, while sharing best practices. This prestigious fellowship includes health insurance, the Atlas Corps Nonprofit Management Series training program, flight and visa costs, and a living stipend to cover basic expenses (food, transportation, housing).
For eligibility, applicants must be under the age of 35, have at least a Bachelor’s degree, be proficient in English, have two or more years of experience in the nonprofit/NGO/social sector, and be committed to returning to their home country after the 12-18 month Fellowship.

FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Fairleigh Dickinson University is a center of academic excellence dedicated to the preparation of world citizens through global education. AMERICAN UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL SERVICE FULBRIGHT APPLICATION FEE WAIVER
The School of International Service (SIS) at American University is committed to a broad and interdisciplinary approach to the study of international relations that values public service, environmental stewardship, human rights, and social justice.
In our continued effort to support the Fulbright program and its scholars, SIS will now waive the $50 application fee for master’s and PhD applications from any Fulbright scholar. The $50 application fee is also waived for any non-sponsored student who is the first person in his/her family to attend university.

THE SCHLUMBERGER FOUNDATION FACULTY FOR THE FUTURE FELLOWSHIP
The Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future program awards fellowships to women from developing and emerging economies to pursue PhD or postdoctoral studies in the physical sciences and related disciplines at top universities abroad. The program’s long-term goal is to generate conditions that result in more women pursuing academic careers in scientific disciplines.
Ultimately, grant recipients are expected to contribute to the socio-economic development of their home countries and regions by strengthening the faculties in their home universities, pursuing relevant research, or using their specific expertise to address policy issues.

ECKERD COLLEGE APPLICATION FEE WAIVER
Eckerd College, a small liberal arts and sciences college in St Petersburg, Florida will be waiving the application fee for all applicants until December 1.
Students can apply to Eckerd through our Early Action program or through rolling admission. Those students who submit a completed application in the Early Action process will receive their decision and scholarship information by December 15. Eckerd’s Early Action deadline is November 15. WESTMINSTER COLLEGE MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Westminster College in Salt Lake City offers four-year music scholarships to qualifying students. The Department of Music at Westminster College offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. The major offers a choice of emphasis: academic or performance. The BA degree in music is an excellent choice for talented students who plan to pursue graduate work in music, and for liberal arts students pursuing two majors in preparation for graduate school.

HARVARD INCREASES FINANCIAL AID TO LOW-INCOME STUDENTS
Harvard College will expand its investment in undergraduate financial aid this year by more than $10 million, providing a record $166 million in need-based scholarships to undergraduates. Beginning in the fall of 2012, financial aid will be further increased for low-income students by raising the income level under which parents pay nothing for the cost of attendance.
To make its generous aid program easy to understand for potential applicants, Harvard College also launched a “net price calculator” on its financial aid website, customizing financial aid information for individual students and their families, in accordance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008. With the new calculator, applicants and their families can enter their financial data to estimate the net price they will be expected to pay for a year at Harvard.

POSTCOMMUNIST CORRUPTION: CAUSES, MANIFESTATIONS, CONSEQUENCES
After more than two decades of research on post-communist transformations, a consensus has emerged that corruption is a major phenomenon associated with the evolution of the former “second world.” The purpose of this conference is to explore the analytical, conceptual and comparative dimensions of this phenomenon and to examine recent empirical findings and field work on corruption in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
We encourage proposals from young researchers who have already completed their dissertation research (ABD) or have defended their dissertation within the last three years. This will be an intensive 2-1/2 day working conference (March 29-April 1, 2012) during which each of the selected papers will be critiqued by the other participants, including all invited presenters, keynote speakers, and a team of discussants made up of Miami University faculty. The Havighurst Center will provide accommodation in Oxford, ground transportation to and from the airport, and partial travel funding ($300 for domestic travel and $800 for international travel).

Established in 1938 in honor of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, the Amelia Earhart Fellowship is awarded annually to women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering. The Fellowship of US$10,000, awarded to 35 Fellows around the globe each year, may be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees in these fields.
Women of any nationality pursuing a Ph.D./doctoral degree who demonstrate a superior academic record in the field of aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering are eligible. NORTH DAKOTA STATE ACADEMIC & CULTURAL SHARING SCHOLARSHIPS
The Academic & Cultural Sharing Scholarship at North Dakota State University offers international undergraduate students the chance to pay only 50% of the non-resident tuition rate, which is currently a savings of about $8,700 per year. At Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, the Loret Ruppe International Student Scholarship provides international undergraduates with financial awards ranging from $1,000 to $24,000 per year. Named in honor of former Peace Corps Director and US Ambassador Loret Ruppe, the scholarships are based on scholastic achievement, participation in co-curricular activities (such as sports, music, or drama), community service, and financial need. Scholarships are renewable each academic year if students maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART IN WASHINGTON DC FELLOWSHIPS
The Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA) at the National Gallery announces its annual program of support for advanced predoctoral and postdoctoral research in the history, theory, and criticism of art, architecture, urbanism, and photographic media. Application for a predoctoral fellowship may be made only through nomination by the chair of a graduate department of art history or other appropriate department. The nominee must be enrolled in a university in the United States and must have completed all departmental requirements, including course work, residency, and general and preliminary examinations, before November 15, 2011. Certification in two languages other than English is required.
CASVA also provides a postdoctoral fellowship for the academic years 2012-14. This award, valued at $50,000 per year, is supported by a grant from the A. W. Mellon Foundation. In addition to research and writing in residence, the fellow will participate in intensive seminars and teach one course at a university in the area. Applicants must have received their PhD in art history (or equivalent field) between October 1, 2006, and October 1, 2011. The application must be submitted by October 15, 2011.

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR DEOMCRACY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
The Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellows Program is an international exchange program that offers practitioners, scholars, and journalists from around the world the opportunity to spend five months at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), in Washington DC, in order to undertake independent research on democracy in a particular country or region. Practitioners focus on strategies and best practices for strengthening democracy in their country of interest, while scholars conduct original research for publication.
The program hosts two five-month fellowship sessions per year, during which fellows are expected to work full-time on their projects. Projects may address the economic, political, social, legal, or cultural aspects of democratic development and include a range of methodologies and approaches. All fellows receive a monthly payment, health insurance, and roundtrip travel reimbursement. The application deadline is November 1, 2011.

JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION OFFERS UNDERGRADUATE TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship supports outstanding community college students with financial need by providing funding for them to complete their bachelor’s degrees at US four-year colleges and universities. The Foundation provides approximately 50 highly competitive scholarships, which are intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees – for the final two to three years necessary to achieve a bachelor’s degree. Awards are valued at up to $30,000 per year and vary based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships the student may receive.
To be eligible for the award, students must be current students at a 2-year institution in the US and have a cumulative college GPA of at least 3.5. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT FUNDING AVAILABLE AT NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY
Northern Michigan University (NMU), a four-year public university located in the town of Marquette, offers a range of scholarships for international undergraduates coming to study in the US. The International Academic Award is available to first-time undergraduate international students, and the Transfer International Academic Award is reserved for students who are transferring to NMU from an accredited US college. Both awards are valued at $1,100 per semester and require students to maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
In addition, international students can apply for funding through the NMU Foundation, which is a variety of awards supported by private donors. These scholarships vary between several hundred and several thousand dollars per student per semester. The Spalding University Office of Advancement and Development, in collaboration with the School of Nursing, has established scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year for two of its nursing degree programs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Scholarship applicants must be officially accepted into the BSN or MSN program, enrolled fulltime (12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 9 credit hours per

AAUW GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR WOMEN
The American Association for University Women (AAUW) hopes to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. To this end, the organization awards fellowships for full-time graduate and postgraduate study or research in the US to women who are not US citizens or permanent residents.
Fellows are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls. The overwhelming majority return to their home countries to become leaders in government, academia, community activism, the arts, and science. In the 2011-2012 cycle, AAUW awarded 49 international fellowships, totaling nearly $1,000,000. Fellows currently work in diverse fields, including systems biology and population genetics, education reform, international human rights, reproductive health policy, and human trafficking. UNIVERSITY OF MAINE OFFERS INTERNATIONAL STUDENT TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS
At the University of Maine, international students can apply for a limited number of tuition scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year in recognition of outstanding academic performance. These awards, which cover up to 30 credits of tuition charges per year, are primarily limited to first time, undergraduate foreign nationals who qualify for the F-1 or J-1 student visa. Award recipients must be enrolled full-time at the University of Maine.
Scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria: high academic achievement (as determined by high school transcripts, class rank, GPA, and standardized test scores), quality of written essay, and a TOEFL score above 550 (paper) or 79 (Internet-based). NON-RESIDENT TUITION WAIVER PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT UNIV OF WISCONSIN-SUPERIOR
The University of Wisconsin-Superior seeks to promote diversity and academic excellence on its campus by attracting qualified and motivated international students. FELLOWSHIPS IN THE HUMANITIES AVAILABLE AT UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA
The Penn Humanities Forum at the University of Pennsylvania is awarding five one-year Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships for the 2012-2013 academic year. This fellowship is available to untenured scholars in the humanities who received or will receive their Ph.D. between December 2003 and December 2011. Fellows teach one undergraduate course in addition to conducting their research, and they are required to be in residence during their fellowship year (September to May). The fellowship stipend is $46,500, plus health insurance. Fellows also receive a research fund of $2500.
For the 2012–2013 academic year, the theme for the fellowship will be “Peripheries.” Humanists and those in related fields are invited to submit research proposals on any aspect of this topic. EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY PROVIDES INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AND AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Eastern Washington University, located in the town of Cheney, provides a range of scholarship opportunities for undergraduates on campus. The New International Student Scholarship is an award ranging from $1,500 to $4,500 that is given to freshman and transfer students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. EWU offers 10 ISS awards annually.
International students can also apply for the International Ambassador Scholarship, an award worth approximately $5,600. In addition to having a GPA of at least 3.2, student need to show an interest and potential for helping to internationalize EWU campus and community. FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR SPRING 2012 AT GEORGIA COLLEGE
Georgia College is happy to announce that approximately 10 renewable International Student Scholarships (ISS) will be awarded for the Spring 2012 term. The ISS is a tuition waiver that covers either the full cost or half the cost of out-of-state tuition. Students receive these scholarships on the basis of demonstrated academic ability, evidence of extra-curricular involvement and financial need. EPILEPSY FOUNDATION PROVIDES GRANTS FOR RESEARCH
The Epilepsy Foundation supports a series of grants to advance the understanding of epilepsy, leading to better treatment, to more effective prevention, and ultimately to a cure. The grants fund a wide range of researchers, including students, junior level and senior level investigators.
The Predoctoral Research Training Fellowship supports full-time doctoral students with their dissertation research related to epilepsy, thus strengthening their interest in establishing epilepsy research as a career direction. The Postdoctoral Research Fellowship develops academic physicians and scientists committed to research in the field.

PRINCETON SOCIETY OF FELLOWS OFFERS THREE-YEAR FELLOWSHIPS
The Princeton Society of Fellows, an interdisciplinary group of scholars in the humanities, social sciences, and selected natural sciences, invites applications for the 2012-2015 Fellowship competition. Four three-year Postdoctoral Fellowships will be awarded this year (two in the Humanities and Social Sciences, one in East Asian Studies, and one in Humanistic Studies).
The stipend for academic year 2012-13 will be approximately $76,000. IUPUI OFFERS INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADOR AWARD AND ELS AWARD
Indiana University-Purdue University Indiapolis (IUPUI) provides many scholarship opportunities for international students. All scholarships require full-time enrollment (12 credit hours or more per semester), and funds provided by these scholarships do not cover intensive English as a Second Language study.
The International Ambassador Award and the ELS Ambassador Award are valued at $3,500 per year and are renewable for up to four years, provided that the student maintains a 3.0 GPA. Recipients must volunteer annually for 15 hours of service at IUPUI events that have an international theme.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE AT UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-OMAHA
To demonstrate its commitment to international students, the Office of International Studies and Programs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) awards two scholarships to academically talented students from around the world. UNO Advantage Scholarships allow recipients to pay resident tuition rates, which typically reduces tuition charges by about 65%. Scholarships are worth $6,600 to $8,500 per year and are renewable annually with good academic progress. New International Student Scholarships are worth $6000 per academic year and are not renewable. Partial grants of $3,000 are sometimes awarded for a single semester.

AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR MICROBIOLOGY AWARDS RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
The American Society for Microbiology International Fellowship Program encourages international research and training collaborations in the microbiological sciences. These grants award fellowships to promising young investigators in resource limited nations who are within five years of obtaining, or are in the process of obtaining, their Masters, PhD, or other equivalent academic degree, and who are working in any of the microbiology disciplines.
Three total fellowships are available per application round (one each to Asia, Africa, and Latin America/Caribbean). A maximum of $5,000 is provided for the fellow to visit a host scientist abroad and carry out a research project. The award is not intended to provide travel to obtain a degree at the host institution. Fellowships can be anywhere between 6 weeks and 6 months in length.

The University of Bridgeport in Connecticut has launched a new international graduate scholarship program for incoming international graduate students. The International Peace Scholarship Fund, established in 1949 by the Philanthropic Educational Organization, is a program that provides scholarships for selected women from other countries for graduate study in
the United States and Canada. The applicant must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study or working toward a graduate degree in a college or university in the US or Canada. In order to qualify for her first scholarship, the applicant must have at least one full year of coursework remaining and be enrolled and in residence for the entire school year.
Eligibility must be established before application material is made available electronically to applicants, and the completed eligibility material will be accepted electronically only between August 15 and December 15. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Announces Special Tuition Rate for International Students
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, located just outside St. Louis, Missouri, announces an exciting scholarship opportunity for international undergraduate students. This new scholarship will reduce tuition and be awarded to new international freshman beginning their studies at SIUE in Fall 2012 for up to eight semesters of full-time study.
The special tuition rate will reduce annual tuition for selected undergraduate international students from $13,000 to approximately $6,400 (excluding fees). Fellowships Available at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars
Each year, The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars offers approximately 20-25 residential fellowships to scholars working with national and/or international issues in the social sciences and humanities. Mount Holyoke’s 21st Century Scholars Program is their most distinguished and generous merit award. Each year, approximately 35 new scholars are welcomed into the program.

International Student Academic Award Available at Northern Michigan University
The International Academic Award is available to academically talented, undergraduate international students who are enrolled at Northern Michigan University as first-time, full-time baccalaureate students.
The award reduces tuition and this reduction can amount to a savings of $1,100 per spring semester, $1,100 per winter semester, $1,000 per spring/summer semester, or up to $3,200 per calendar year.
The international student must meet the following conditions in order to be eligible:
- Must hold a valid, in status, F-1 Visa.
- Must achieve a 3.00 cumulative GPA (or higher) within the first four semesters of study at NMU, with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
- Note: Sixteen credit hours per semester are needed to complete most degree programs within 8 semesters.
- Recipients of the International Academic Award will be provided the opportunity to perform up to 15 hours of community service for each semester the award is received.

University of Toledo Offers International Rocket Scholarship
The International Rocket Scholarship is offered to new undergraduate international students who are entering the university as an adult, transfer or directly from high school who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship covers the out of state surcharge, valued at approximately $9,000. Students whose native language is not English must have a minimum international TOEFL score of 500 paper based, 173 computer based, or 61 internet based test or a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 and be academically admissible to receive this award.
Students are eligible for this award until they earn an undergraduate degree, but must do so within 15 semesters over a maximum of five consecutive years. A completed international undergraduate application for admission, all required transcripts, $40 application fee, and official passing TOEFL or IELTS report must be postmarked by the application priority deadline for the term of application.

Pittsburg State University is a public university located in the southeast corner of the state of Kansas. Serving approximately 7,000 students, PSU has an international population of about 500 students from 40 different countries. The Phillips Collection Fellowship Available at The George Washington University
The Phillips Collection, in partnership with The George Washington University (GWU), offers a Post-Doctoral Fellowship available to support research and teaching on topics in American, European, or non-western art, including photography, from 1780 to the present. The fellow is expected to be in residence in Washington, DC, at The Phillips Collection during the fall and spring semesters throughout the term of the fellowship – July 2012 through June 2013. The Fellow wil l be expected to teach one undergraduate or graduate course at the Phillips’ Center for the Study of Modern Art or at GWU’s Foggy Bottom Campus, present at least one public lecture at the Phillips, and participate in other programs and discussions with scholars, critics, museum staff, and students at the museum and the university during the fellowship.
The appointment carries a departmental affiliation with GWU’s Department of Fine Arts and Art History and with The Phillips Collection. The Fellowship will carry a stipend. A generous benefits package is available. In addition, the fellowship will provide various university/museum privileges, including access to facilities, libraries of institutions, equipment, support staff, curators, and faculty.
The Fellowship is open to untenured scholars who have received their Ph.D.s within the past five years. Preference will be given to applicants whose projects focus on subjects related to the museum’s areas of collecting and reinterpret the topic via innovative methodological approaches or alternative perspectives that may cross national boundaries and art historical time periods. International Teaching Assistant (ITA) Program Available at the University of Utah
International Teaching Assistants (ITAs) are a vital part of the teaching mission at the University of Utah. The Graduate School requires all non-native English speaking graduate students to be cleared by the ITA Program in order to be eligible for a tuition benefit for teaching assistantships.
Screening for oral English proficiency is done throughout the year, and pre-semester workshops prepare ITAs for their teaching assignments. On-going training and support is offered throughout the academic year in the form of graduate-level English classes, one-on-one and group tutorials, classroom observations with follow-up consultations, mid-semester student evaluations, and seminars on topics of interest to ITAs.

University of South Carolina Offers Upstate Scholars Program
The University of South Carolina Upstate Scholars Program for new and continuing students assists academically talented individuals in their pursuit of higher education. Hamilton College Offers $32,000 in Financial Aid to International Students
Hamilton, a liberal arts college with an emphasis on individualized instruction and independent research, is a national leader in teaching effective writing and persuasive speaking. Close to half of all students are on financial aid and receive $32,000 on average which covers full tuition, room, board, and student activity fees.
In order to be eligible, the following requirements must be met:
- Acceptance to Hamilton College under one of four Decision Plans: Early Decision Plan I (Nov 15 deadline), Early Decision Plan II (January 1 deadline), or Regular Decision (January 1 deadline).
- Students should complete the International Student Financial Aid Application and the Certification of Finances. These forms should be submitted to the Financial Aid Office.
